Montana, June 24th - 8th July 2023

We met up with Charlie and Heidi for another camping adventure, this time in Northern Idaho .

We'd been to the area before and had hoped to try a different camping spot in the large recreation area on the Warm River but found all the spots were already reserved. After a very scenic drive around to the town of Ashton, we headed northwards again and grabbed sites at Riverside Campground on the Henry's Fork River to await our friends' arrival.

A curious Marmot.

Should those two be in charge of a large axe?

We spent a pleasant evening with our friends before they headed south to Utah and we returned to Raynold's Pass in Montana.

Quite the bird fight between a Bald Eagle and a Red-Tailed Hawk.

Our nonagenarian friend Ron arrived at Raynold's Pass after a gruelling drive of over 2000 miles from his home in Pennsylvania.

His grandson and family, on holiday in Idaho at the time, paid him a visit and Phil enjoyed teaching Ron's great-grandchildren to fly fish.

We were lucky that our path crossed with that of our California friends Mick and Deb, who set up camp next to us for a few days.
